We got about 6 inches of snow yesterday. It was beautiful! (I'll try to get Isaac to post the pictures he took yesterday.) I can't remember the last time we got so much snow. Isaac tried to make it to work, but he works 30 minutes away, and it didn't make sense for him to get stranded. I didn't even attempt to go into work since I had my laptop and can work from home. The benefits of having a laptop and a VPN connection to the BB&T network.
Since we were home, we had the opportunity to watch the inaguration. It was truly a memorable experience (although I was sad that the presidential oath got a little messed up. oops!). I am so grateful to live in a country where we do have peaceful transitions of power. I'm excited about Obama and have a renewed sense that I need to pray for him and his leadership daily. I'm also praying for the Bushes transition as well. How hard must it be to go from president of the US to ordinary guy?
We really enjoyed the day at home... working, reading, watching Iron Chef America, and making dinner together. I felt very thankful for the day off.
Isaac found out that Eaton (his company) is laying off 10% of it's work force of 80,000 employees. OUCH. He is safe, but it's heart breaking for the people who will be affected by the lay offs. I really do hope we can turn the economy around for the sake of American families. It makes it hard for me to consider other job opportunities when so many jobs are being lost. I know I should still research other things, but it's hard to motivate myself to do so. Maybe I'll post my progress here as a way to hold myself accountable in this endeavor.
Hope everyone has a great day.

First of all, UGH. I meant to call you tonight and had to get caught up on school work I missed from not being at school for the work day yesterday. I would much rather talk to you than write reports. Tomorrow??
Secondly, yay for snow days! You evidently got a lot more than we did. You and Isaac get to be the Second Cutest Snow Couple Ever! Hope your day was restful.
